I really like this question! I mean there are different strategies of choosing these foods. Should you go for what is the most optimal food for your body, nutrient wise? Or go with just taste and what you like? Could it be important to choose from both sides of this? I would think it is of great important to choose from both.
But we have another problem, kind of…
There is so much to choose from! But I will put down one right away, just to get it all started! And it is blueberries!
Amazing berry that is rich with Vitamin K but also phytonutrients.
This is a freaking amazing eatable berry . Well okay, it is not a big thing and you need to compete with bears to get them, but despite that, the blueberry is filled with vitamins and minerals.
Especially vitamin K, that keeps your bone structure well but can also be a big part in the growths of cells.
Another interesting thing with this berry is the amount of so called phytonutrients that you can find in it. Now phytonutrients is not anything I knew about before but it seems like it is helping the human body to prevent diseases and keeping the body in proper shape. Correct me if I am totally out of place with that.
But the best thing about blueberries is that I can pick them how much I want during the end of each summer here in Sweden, and they taste amazing!
Any type of fish is good, as long as it is the more oily typ. But I chose salmon for the reason that I really do love it! It taste just awesome, smoked, grilled, whatever. It is a really awesome fish! And you probably know about all the health benefits of oily fish and there included salmon, and that its meat contain a lot of omega-3 fatty acid.
With the big amount of omega-3 it result in a highly amount of vitamin D as well. And I would say that must of us humans do not consume enough vitamin D. At least not swedes.
A funny thing about Vitamin D is that it is a kind of steroid hormone, like testosterone or estrogen. When the body produces this, after being exposed to pure sun light for example, it can basically have an effect on loads of different genes in our cells. This can prevent us from getting any kind of disease, almost. And my guess, just a guess, is that it is even more effective depending on the ratio between omega-3 and omega-6(a fatty acid with an inflammatory effect, used in most food products preventing it from getting bad earlier)
The super food. Filled with loads of protein, omega-3 fats and also Vitamin D
The salmon is also very rich in protein and you kind of need protein. I am not sure if there is any more to say to this amazing fish.
A great combination of flavor, protein and good fats makes it a super food in my eyes!
I love this nut! I would choose this food over any other food here without a doubt. And that is only with the reason of the incredible taste! There is something with it that I love!
But let us look at what this very treelike nut has to offer in terms of nutrition and health benefits.
If we start by looking at the vitamins and minerals, the micro nutrients. Almonds are filled with different kinds of micro nutrients. Vitamin E, iron and calcium are a few of them.
For example, the vitamin E, protects the unsaturated fatty acids against breaking down in the tissues. For example, it makes it easier for the skin to work against outer strain, such as UV-light from the sun or scars.
Vitamin E can also have a positive effect when it comes to the flow of oxygen to our muscles.
Rich with Vitamin E, fibers, iron and calcium. Taste amazing!
Almonds are, just as salmon, very rich on fat. This makes it a very good food source when it comes to having a stable level of cholesterol in the body.
Basically, these are the three kinds of food I would pick out to eat for the rest of my life. Now I would want to choose loads of more foods to add to this list if I could and maybe I might make a post about more food that I would want to have in, I don’t know, top 10.
If there is anything that you think I could add on about these foods or something that you can see is completely wrong. Do not hesitate to comment this blog post.
See you all later
